3 Ways To Reclaim Your Time
The buzzword has been financial independence for I don’t know how long. What we truly desire is the freedom to do what we want, when we want, and with whom we want. As for me, I desire to be a rich haute housewife living a leisure, luxury, lavish lifestyle with a full-time staff in 4 estates around the world in order to reclaim my time. It’s not as outlandish as it sounds. Well, how did a child of a domestic worker get the idea that it’s possible to be rich and live a leisure, luxury, lavish lifestyle with full-time staff at that? For one, I lived in a prestigious neighborhood…
Increase Your Learning to Increase Your Earning
Personally, I wish someone would have told me that you could increase your learning to increase your earning. Sadly, I held 25 jobs (that I remember) before I caught on. In my twenties, I held multiple trivial, mostly part-time jobs in order to make ends meet. These jobs paid around $7.00 to $8.00 per hour. Once, I had eight jobs in two years. Essentially, I job hopped for twenty-five and fifty-cent raises which was a lot of money to me at the time. I sold beanie babies, dietary supplements, pagers, cookies, toys, and shoes, as well as contracted as a substitute-assistant daycare teacher. My personal research (job-hopping) in the marketplace revealed,…
Frame Your Future
FRAME YOUR FUTURE. I desire quantum progress in every area of my life in 2023. If you’ve been following me, you know my word for the year is ACCELERATION (formerly excellence). Since January, I’ve read multiple books and repeatedly listened to multiple teachings and sermons (Practice # 4 | Invest In Yourself). These authors and speakers are my imaginary advisors. I consult their media resources for advice. Another word that keeps catching my attention from these individuals, other than acceleration, is VISION. Accelerated growth and quantum leaping require a VISION (i.e. destination, target, or desire). A GPS requires a destination before it can create a route. Once you enter a…
GROWTH BY ASSOCIATION
Happy New Month! If you have been following me I’m back in the States. I’ve been to Chicago (IL), metro Atlanta (GA), Tuscaloosa (AL), and back to metro Atlanta (GA) among other travels. Yes, I’m currently in metro Atlanta. How long? I’m not sure so catch me here while you can. All of this transition has made me change my word for 2023. Initially, it was “EXCELLENCE.” After surveying my actions over the last 3 months (the first quarter of the year), I made an executive decision to change it to “ACCELERATION.” I’m committed to accelerated growth. Among other things, in the past 3 months, I’ve 🎓graduated from an entrepreneurship program,…
How Badly Do You Really Want It?
“A hero is someone born into a world where they do not fit in. They are then summoned on a call to an adventure they are reluctant to take. What is the adventure? A revolutionary transformation of self. The final goal is to find the elixir, the magic potion that is the answer to unlocking her. Then she comes home to this ordinary life transformed and shares her story of survival with others.” Chapter 1, Running Self-Transformation How Badly Do You Really Want It? I didn’t listen to one memoir this past week but two: Finding Me by Viola Davis & Will by Will Smith. Both audiobooks talk about transformation,…
An Unforgettable Year | 2019
First of all, I need to pinch myself to make sure I’m not dreaming. I’m (still) living abroad with a man I met three times in person. Yes, three. I made the quickest and most significant decision of my life in a matter of a week. I jumped into the unknown, and it made for an unforgettable year. The decision rewarded me with rich adventures. I experienced several different cultures, cuisines, currencies, and climates. Meanwhile, making some spectacular memories. Valuable life and relationship lessons were learned. Being newly married to a foreigner in a foreign country is life and relationship training on steroids. I had a crash course on myself…
4 Lessons About Diligence
Vipassana has given me new ways of thinking, living, and working. It’s apparent. The fact of the matter, I’m writing my third post about lessons learned from my experience. Diligence is a character trait I’m intentionally trying to improve. After reflecting on my experience, below are 4 lessons learned about diligence from Vipassana. Time is the Most Valuable Commodity More than money, I’ve always known that time is the most valuable commodity. Think about it, the punishment for a crime is a person’s time. A person can never get the seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years back. Never. Once it has happened, a moment in time is gone forever.…
3 Lessons From Climbing the Wli Waterfall
Wli Agumatsa Waterfalls is located in the Volta Region near the HoHoe municipality in Ghana and a stone’s throw away from the Togo border. The Wli Waterfalls is the highest waterfall in Ghana and West Africa. The five-hour commute to the area is an experience in itself. Unless you charter a private car or bus, tro-tros are the most common mode of transportation to and from the Wli village. With the aid of my bluetooth headphones and cellphone’s gospel playlist, I was able to focus on the beautiful mountainous views and not so much on the rocky transit. I was excited about the new adventure but I underestimated the arduousness…
Faith In Action
Update: It’s November 12, 2019. Quite honestly, I’ve been slacking in the faith in action department. 228 days since my first international speaking engagement (Kumasi, Ghana) 128 days since the VIP Mastermind Session (London, United Kingdom) A business brainstorm event 50 days before 2019 is over – Can you believe it? I confess my actions are still not aligning with what I really want out of life. Why haven’t I acted on my desires to inspire through public speaking? What’s holding me back from helping others to overcome their fears? Why am I not telling the world to go after their personal legend? The reality of the matter is I…
