    Born To T.H.R.I.V.E.

Listen to the blog post here. Stress or not to stress? For us, 2020 was a year to remember (or not). We thought 2019 was the year of adversity for us. Chile (African American Vernacular English for child), 2019 was a walk in the park compared to 2020. 2020 was supposed to be the year of the come-up. We had plans. Daniel signed to a team. He would play the entire season and get some good highlights for his football reel. My plans were to be a housewife, chill, and enjoy matrimony before the baby carriage. 2020 fooled us. Below are just a few things my husband and I experienced…

False Evidence Appearing Real = F.E.A.R.

Is it true? FEAR is false evidence appearing real? In the photo below, the place of interest: Palamidi Castle, an old fortress that was built over three centuries ago. The fortress sits on the top of a high hill. It provides spectacular views of the town and the surrounding area. To obtain this highly coveted view of the town, it’s “rumored” that one must climb 999 stairs to the top. If I’m honest with myself (and you), I was frightened. My fear did not seem like false evidence appearing real in the present moment. If you haven’t figured it out yet, I’m afraid of heights. As far as I can…

3 Ways To Reclaim Your Time

The buzzword has been financial independence for I don’t know how long. What we truly desire is the freedom to do what we want, when we want, and with whom we want. As for me, I desire to be a rich haute housewife living a leisure, luxury, lavish lifestyle with a full-time staff in 4 estates around the world in order to reclaim my time. It’s not as outlandish as it sounds. Well, how did a child of a domestic worker get the idea that it’s possible to be rich and live a leisure, luxury, lavish lifestyle with full-time staff at that? For one, I lived in a prestigious neighborhood…

Increase Your Learning to Increase Your Earning

Personally, I wish someone would have told me that you could increase your learning to increase your earning. Sadly, I held 25 jobs (that I remember) before I caught on. In my twenties, I held multiple trivial, mostly part-time jobs in order to make ends meet. These jobs paid around $7.00 to $8.00 per hour. Once, I had eight jobs in two years. Essentially, I job hopped for twenty-five and fifty-cent raises which was a lot of money to me at the time. I sold beanie babies, dietary supplements, pagers, cookies, toys, and shoes, as well as contracted as a substitute-assistant daycare teacher. My personal research (job-hopping) in the marketplace revealed,…

    Essence Festival in New Orleans

ALL ABOARD July started off with a bang in Nawlins (New Orleans) at the Essence Festival. I rode the Amtrak train there. It was a 7-hour train ride. For my fellow explorers, if you’ve never rode the Amtrak train before, try it. It’s an experience and a comfortable one. PROS CONS AIN’T NO PLACE LIKE IT New Orleans is in a class all by itself. The culture, cuisine, people, street cars, art, St. Charles Avenue, the French Quarters, the Riverwalk, the music, live bands, hospitality, and restaurants. There’s no place like it. The reason Essence continues to bring the festival back annually since 1995. If you’ve never been to Essence…

    Money Behaviors Keeping You Broke

Are your money behaviors keeping you broke? Everything we know we observed and were taught. Either by someone in our sphere or some authority figure in a particular genre. Including our spending habits. If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I follow 9 foundational practices – T.H.R.I.V.E. I in T.H.R.I.V.E. represents Practice # 4 | Invest In Yourself which consists of reading self-help books, listening to faith-building sermons, and/or hiring a personal coach, among other things. In the first 4 months of the year, I read 17 books. Now, I’m dedicating 121 days (May 2023 to August 2023) to reading 12 personal finance books on raising wealth…

    Frame Your Future

FRAME YOUR FUTURE. I desire quantum progress in every area of my life in 2023. If you’ve been following me, you know my word for the year is ACCELERATION (formerly excellence). Since January, I’ve read multiple books and repeatedly listened to multiple teachings and sermons (Practice # 4 | Invest In Yourself). These authors and speakers are my imaginary advisors. I consult their media resources for advice. Another word that keeps catching my attention from these individuals, other than acceleration, is VISION. Accelerated growth and quantum leaping require a VISION (i.e. destination, target, or desire). A GPS requires a destination before it can create a route. Once you enter a…

    GROWTH BY ASSOCIATION

Happy New Month! If you have been following me I’m back in the States. I’ve been to Chicago (IL), metro Atlanta (GA), Tuscaloosa (AL), and back to metro Atlanta (GA) among other travels. Yes, I’m currently in metro Atlanta. How long? I’m not sure so catch me here while you can. All of this transition has made me change my word for 2023. Initially, it was “EXCELLENCE.” After surveying my actions over the last 3 months (the first quarter of the year), I made an executive decision to change it to “ACCELERATION.”  I’m committed to accelerated growth.  Among other things, in the past 3 months, I’ve 🎓graduated from an entrepreneurship program,…

    2022 Year In Review

2022 Year In Review. Happy New Year! I’ve been completing a lot of incomplete projects from 2022. As suggested by Success Principle 28 in Jack Canfield’s Book, The Success Principles, How To Get From Where You Are to Where You Want To Be, and also the co-author of Chicken Soup For The Soul. I bound the procrastination and unfocused spirit for 2023. Already I’ve completed and submitted my homework for my Saturday virtual class. Since the class started in October, I always took advantage of the time difference and turned the assignments in on the due date Gulf Standard Time. If you’ve been following me on YouTube (if you’re not,…
